Products Pots with drainage and a tray

Pan Pot 200

A low, wide drainage pot for a spreading root system or a small group planting. Round floor holes, short removable feet and a separate tray keep the construction straightforward, with no liner.

Move the diameter, the height, the wall, the flutes, the drainage holes, tray and feet, and what comes out is a file and a code you send us. The link carries PP-ST-200 with it, so the drawing you started from comes back with the order. 6 to 9 days from the moment a size is agreed.

What it suits

Suits

  • Fittonia
  • Peperomia
  • Small ferns
  • Group plantings of bulbs
  • Sempervivum and other flat rosettes, in a very coarse mix
  • Bonsai-style shallow root systems

Not for

  • Sansevieria
  • Zamioculcas
  • Anything with a taproot
  • Any plant you already tend to overwater, unless you also change the mix

Choose this pot for the plant's root habit, not for the look of the plant above the rim.

Drawn for Cacti, Succulents and Hoya, and each of those pages says why this shape and not another.

Why it is that shape

A broad opening gives a spreading planting more room across the surface. The floor drains into a separate tray, and the 4 mm feet detach for cleaning or replacement.

Looking after it

This pot needs a coarser mix than its taller twin, not a finer one. A 30 mm saturated layer is nearly two fifths of this root zone, and the only thing that shortens a saturated layer is bigger pores. Add pumice or bark, and expect to water more often as a direct consequence.

Pigments fade under sustained sunlight.

Drainage through the pot itself

Round holes pass through the main pot floor. Short feet lift it above a separate catch tray, included by default. Plant directly into the shell; there is no liner or liner holder.
