Deep Saucer 180

A high-sided round tray with a raised centre, so runoff can stay below without the pot standing in it. The outside stays plain; the radial ribs inside do the work and make the water level visible from above.

Make yours

Tell us the size and this gets drawn to it.

This one is made to order rather than configured on screen: diameter and water depth moves from 110 mm across and 25 mm deep to 260 mm across and 55 mm deep. Send a photo of the plant and the spot it has to live in, with the code PP-TS-180, and a size and a drawing come back the same day. 5 to 8 days from there.

What it suits

Suits

  • Pots watered heavily at a sink or shelf
  • Plants that release runoff slowly
  • A shelf where a spill would damage the surface

Not for

  • Using stored runoff as a self-watering reservoir
  • Pots wider than the raised seat
  • Permanent outdoor use

The 180 mm drawing carries pot bases from 125 to 165 mm across.

Why it is that shape

Height is useful only if it separates the pot from what the tray holds. The raised centre keeps the drainage holes above the stored runoff, while the channels leave the water visible and make the tray easy to pour out.

Looking after it

Water can wait below the seat, but it should not become forgotten water. Empty it when a mineral skin, smell or debris appears, and rinse the channels before replacing the pot.

The outside is plain and the deeper shadow supplies the form. Pigments fade under sustained sunlight.
